Importing CD Audio into Pro Tools

Importing Audio from CD:

a. Load into iTunes (possibly can go direct from CD?)

b. In PT, create two stereo audio tracks

c. File menu: choose “Import”

i. Choose “Audio” in sub-menu

d. navigate to your cd track in iTunes

e. Select the track

f. You can audition

g. If correct, click “Convert”

h. You can choose other tracks to add to PT: follow same procedure

i. When all tracks are selected click “Done”

j. You then must choose where the audio files will be stored: Choose the audio file folder in the PT session folder for that particular project, which should be in the external HD

k. “Audio Import Options”: save in Region List.

l. You can then drag onto the top audio track

m. If you want to process portions you can select regions and then process. When you get a keeper, move it down to second audio track.

You can cut a region that you don’t want to keep, and you won’t lose it.
